Dec 17, 2018· Other Damaged Parts. Drive pulleys and idler pulleys can inhibit proper belt function if they are not clean and in working order. The movable arm should swing freely without obstruction, and the blade spindles should turn freely as well. Check the mower's rake or pitch. A properly adjusted mower deck slants slightly forward,...

Jul 29, 2010· I would never trust a belt drive on a 'Busa. I don't think belt drives are able to transmit that much torque/power. Heck, I wouldn't trust every chain except a few. Heck, even a good chain can go bad on a 'Busa. Few years back, during a track day I witnessed a belt on the Buell broke and was laying there on the track like a black snake.
Jul 22, 2011· The ACE had chain drive and dual carbs, The Aero has a single carb and shaft drive. The spirit was always chain drive I thnk and came with both single and dual carbs. Early ACE models had handlebar mounted speedos. Later models and the Aero had/have tank mounted ones.
Dec 09, 2005· I know a lot of people were doing that with the Honda 750 Shadow ACE. And a place called Scootworks made a belt conversion kit for that with some degree of success. Frankly, the main reason I got rid of my ACE was because I was tired of messing and adjusting the final drive.
Changing the rear sprocket (pulley). Is it doable? My suggestion is to set the rpms simmilar to one of the bigger vstars (stratoliner) at 65mph around 1,500. only issue is belt length. to reduce the rpms we will need a smaller rear wheel pulley and that will move it further back. depending on the size we want, it could move it as far back as 1/2" or more.
Jul 27, 2005· Scootworks Belt drive conversion kit. One of the guys I ride with has done this mod. He did it when they first came out and he had a lot of problems. It left him calling for a truck more than once. As Scootworks has made changes and improved tollerances they have sent him the new parts free of charge and he has a lot less problem with it now.
I am watching the progress of this with interest,, I contemplated this mod with my VZ800 a couple of years ago but availability of parts was a problem, it was really hard to source them, my uncle and a friend down in Somerset had the belt drive fitted but my uncle in particular wasn't impressed and when I rode his bike I felt the chain drive with a 16 tooth front sprocket was better, the belt ...
Apr 30, 2013· It's only a set of bars, windshield, and bags away from this idea. There's already a gallon tank on it and a belt drive. Kind of veers away from the drag bars and skinny front image, but you get all the good with very little of the bad. That 900 engine is pretty nice. Pretty decent trans too. Belt drive. Not a bad idea at all.
My husband and I purchased a belt drive for his motorcycle. After less than 7,000 miles the belt broke while we were out on an afternoon ride. My husband contacted Dave Hockaday and after several emails and pictures of what happened to the belt, we mailed the entire belt drive back to Dave. This occurred in the beginning of October.
Belt Drive. In some ways, the modern Kevlarreinforced belt is a throwback to the original leather belts used on the seminal Benz cycle of the late 1880's. Most famously used by HarleyDavidson since the late 1980s, belt drive has much to recommend it. Other manufacturers who have used modern belt final drive include Suzuki, Buell, Yamaha and BMW.
Take a look at a belt drive bike like a Buell and you'll see a lot of. distance between the wheel and swingarm on the left hand side. The belt. and "sprocket" is over an inch wide, as opposed to less than 1/2inch. for chain. Plus the drive spool probably wouldn't fit under the engine. cover.
Recently put on new tires and there is no adjustment to loosen the tension of the belt. Shop that installed tires thought the belt was too tight. The belt tension is within scootworks spec but I here whining noises when decelerating and at certain speeds.

Aug 29, 2009· scootworks swr9 risers for honda vtx1300c from scootworks inc. Here's two pics of the SWR9 vtx riser on a fury from an older post by bikerchic. I'm thinkin' this is exactly what the new riser's will give you, with the slight difference of the aformentioned machining difference at the top of the risers.
May 15, 2008· I really don't know why anyone would bother doing a belt drive conversion, you can buy attractive plated chains and sprockets nowadays, and if you don't want chain grease on your tire, buy a new O ring chain and just use white chain wax, and you won't have a problem. If Gates couldn't do it with reliability and durability, I doubt anyone here ...
